I have to admidt that Unnamed is back. And I have finished the hand pin striping. And it has been to The Bike Doctor to be re-assembled. The guys did a great job including find it white cables and nice cable clips. It doesn’t have a rack yet. They are special ordering a chrome one in for it.
I don’t have a new saddle for it yet, that is en route. It does have new brake pads, but they aren’t the Kool Stop ones since they don’t seem to be locally available. The pedal bearings are kind of shot and new pedals are on order.
But…. I am not sure I’m ready to post glamour shots yet. Partly because I am still investigating how to get decals for it. Partly because on the park tool stand in my living room is not exactly glamourous.
The other part is that I don’t really know what colour my bike is.
Muenster Powder Coat had a small sample marked Metalic Copper that they hadn’t used before and wasn’t really enough for a large product. T talked me into gambling on the unknown colour. It isn’t what I would call metallic copper. It isn’t a bad colour, but it isn’t copper. It’s….. well, in lipstick it would be described as a frost. It’s kind of a purple-y brown-y taupe maybe?
The guys at The Bike Doctor called it “Champagne Mauve.” It’s as good a name as any.
Me, I’m just waiting for the saddle and new pedals so I can ride it.
