Athena (or Clydesdale)

I don’t really think of myself as fat.  I don’t really think about it at all.  I worry about what I can do, not my shape.  But I have just realized (had it pointed out to me) that I fall into the size range for plus sized female athletes.  I don’t know how to take that.  In case you are wondering, a 150+ lbs woman (or 200+ lbs on a man) is considered an “Athena” (or Clydesdale) cyclist.

OK.

It doesn’t hurt my pride any, I am fine with my body.  I just had a moment of surprise.  No wonder so many women are afraid of alienated by sporting goods store.

My 150+ lbs still fit into a size 8 pair of Levis.

I am the average size at mommy’s group.

What the heck?  How do you ever expect women to join a sport if you start out by telling them they aren’t normal?
