Life is interesting
I’m sort of settling into the fall routine. Knitting twice a week. Library on Thursdays. Swimming on Sunday for Toddler girl and on Monday for me. It is kind of comforting being in a routine. You know what to expect. Toddler girl is certainly happier with the routine back in place. She doesn’t fight the afternoon nap nearly as hard these days.
Routine doesn’t make for a very interesting blog.
For now, I’m happy to coast for a little while. I don’t want weird things at work, or at home or any “I can’t believe this is happening” stories to tell.
V’s new window was installed yesterday. Toddler girl made a point of calling the installers “nice gentlemen” which they seemed to find surprising.
I learned that I can make three 20-something soldiers blush and remove items of clothing by inquiring why they are wearing their headgear indoors. It was kind of fun. I’m old, I have to take what I can get.
Here is a piece of trivia that movies and TV always get wrong, in the Canadian armed forces (and as far as I know all common wealth countries, I’m not sure about the USA) soldiers only salute while wearing their headgear and they are required to remove their headgear indoors. So those movies where people are ripping of salutes right, left and center are wrong. Indoors, you just stand to attention.
Doctor Who needs better research staff since UNIT always gets this wrong. So does Captain Jack Harkness on Torchwood.
I’ve been watching a bit of Doctor Who lately. I’m trying to get caught up on the new series. Plus, I have an over active imagination and Doctor Who is the maximum amount of scary I can take. They completely creep me out. Seriously, after the episode with the Silence, I had to sleep with the lights on. Feel free to mock me, I can take it. I’m having fun being the right amount of scared.
Time to go for a bike ride. Toddler girl needs some new pants. She has pants and she has shirts, but I am hard pressed to find anything that matches well enough to make an outfit. We also have a bunch of clothes she has out grown to take for consignment, so we will try to kill two birds with one stone.
