Yes, in this case, that does deserve an exclamation point.
I have had carrot crop failure in 2004, 2005, 2006, in 2007 we grew purple carrots, but no one would eat them. Then my garden went on to crop failure in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
This year, I planted carrots with no expectations at all of getting even one to eat. However, after listening to my tale of woe, the nice lady at Early’s farm and garden recommended a packet of heritage carrot seeds. All colours of carrots including white, pale yellow, dark yellow, pale orange, dark orange, burgundy and purple all in one packet, so surely SOMETHING out of that mix would grow for me. Right?
Yes, yes it did.
Que the Halleluiah chorus!
And this is just the first batch! A small sampling out of the four rows I planted!
Wow. Just wow.
And I would like to once again thank D & J and there kids for the lovely Lee Valley root vegetable harvesting basket. It was a wedding present and I love it and I use it. Thank you.
