Over the summer I made three or four batches of Snickerdoodles looking for the right recipe. None of them turned out the way I wanted. Then Average Betty made them and it was time for me to try again.

Snickerdoodles Cookies:
3/4 cup browned unsalted butter
1/4 cup vegetable shortening
3/4 cup white sugar
3/4 cup light brown sugar
2 large eggs
3/4 teaspoon coarse salt
1 tablespoon baking powder
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
splash of vanilla

1/4 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon

Jack pot!
