First Harvest of the Season

The garden is going slow.  It has been cold and damp this month.  My carrots and beets seem to both have rotted in the ground.  I’m going to have to replant a bunch of things.  By the radishes are slowing getting ready to eat.  I tried a blend this time since I couldn’t find my usual pink variety.  The french breakfast ones are OK.  There are a few pink or white ones in the mix, those go first.  The purple ones and the fire engine red varieties about both too hot for my family.  If you are reading this and local and would like some zippy radishes, let me know.

Try roasting those hot radishes in the oven, then add butter, salt and pepper. The heat mostly disappears!
